SYLVANIA, Ga. - Annie Maude Rogers Beard, 76, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Screven County Hospital. She was born in West Palm Beach, Fla., and was retired from the Sylvania Plant of BASF and was a member of Buck Creek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her husband, J. Leslie Beard. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Cecille B. Mallard of Statesboro and Lorraine B. and Lamar Zipperer of Sylvania; two sons and daughter-in-law, Jerry Beard of Sylvania and Earl and Wanda P. Beard of Sylvania; two sisters, Myrtle Tinsley of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Freida Jones of Palm Springs, Fla. and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday at Buck Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Christy Bandy and Rev. Carter Berkeley officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
