She immigrated to New York in 1954 and worked as a seamstress and homemaker.
With boundless energy and compassion, she always had a sweet smile as she generously gave of her time and resources for the DeMeo Relief Fund.
On her 95th birthday she was still dancing. She enjoyed tending her vegetable garden, crocheting and sewing but most of all her big Italian family of whom she was so proud.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Carlo DeMeo, brothers & sisters Andrew & Joseph Filosa, Lucy Zangrilo & Helen Scipione and children Franco & Genesia DeMeo.
She leaves her daughters Mary Treglia, Josephine Livecchi, Frances Treglia, Ida Cotignola, Angela Mastromarco & Anna Riehm DeMeo.
She has 20 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren.
Loving and fiesty to the end, she is a wonderful tribute to the Italian American tradition.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 4, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 854 Midland Avenue, Yonkers, NY.
