An Old Resident Dies
At 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon the spirit of Miss Matilda Artley was released from its earthly casement and took its flight to the realms of eternal glory.
"Aunt Tillie", as she was better known, took ill while visiting at the home of Mrs. Fribley, northeast of the city, some weeks ago, but was afterwards moved to the home of her niece, Mrs. Mary Martin, near Perry, where her death occurred at the time above stated.
She was 80 years of age, and had been a resident of this locality for about 50 years. She was an aunt of Mrs. Mary Martin and Walter and Cameron Kunkle.
The funeral took place at Mrs. Martin's home on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Baber, pastor of the Christian church of Perry conducting the services. A large concourse of friends was present and followed the remains to their last resting place in Oak Ridge cemetery.
A good woman has gone to her reward.
