Kenneth E. Plattner, 76, of 3913 N. Millbrook, Peoria, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at his residence.

Ken was born Sept. 18, 1931, in Carlock, the son of Joseph and Emma Gudeman Plattner. He married Edith Hodel on April 22, 1956, in Hoopeston, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Cynthia (Douglas) Streitmatter of Princeville; two brothers, Melvin (Mardell) Plattner of Peoria and Russell (Marge) Plattner of Roanoke; two sisters, Betty (Richard) Wiegand of Fairbury and Grace Bauer of Cissna Park; and one brother-in-law, Gene Koch of Tremont.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Anna Marie Koch.

Ken worked at the Caterpillar Tractor Company for 41 years, retiring in 1991.

Visitation will be at the Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall on Route 150 in Edwards. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
