Musician, Entertainer. He began his career while still in high school with his own television program, The Bobby Lord Homefolks Show in Tampa, Florida. In 1953, he became a regular guitar player on the ABC television show, Ozark Jubilee and signed with Columbia Records. He recorded many Rockabilly hits in the 1950s to include "Am I A Fool", "My Baby's Not My Baby Anymore" and "Everybody's Rockin' But Me". When the Ozark Jubilee show went off the air in 1960, he moved to Nashville, joined the Grand Ole Opry and was a featured performer into the mid-1970s. Through the 1960s, he was best known for the syndicated TV program The Bobby Lord Show, seen across the USA and in 34 countries around the world. By 1967, he was recording for Decca and had several top 10 country hits such as "It's My Life" and "They've Got Something in the Country". In the 1980s, he left music to become a host for TNN's sports program, Celebrity Outdoors and remained until he retired in 1989. He is also the author of "Hit the Glory Road", a book on the grassroots gospel behind country music.
