George Thomason Barrow died February 1, 1952, in Delta Community Hospital, in Sikeston, Missouri. He was buried at New Prospect Bounds Cemetery, in Greenville, Missouri.

In 1887, he came to Missouri with his parents, first to Wappapello, then to Greenville in 1894, both towns being in Wayne County, Missouri. He joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church on Otter Creek in 1891, then united with the First Baptist Church in Greenville, and was a member of the board of Deacons of that church at the time of his death. From 1920 to 1928, George lived in Detroit, Michigan. According to the 1900 census, George was a barber.
