Edith Blanche was the daughter of Charles Edward Ernest Baichtal (b. 1858, d. 1915) and Anna Belle (Hester) Baichtal (b. 1863, d. 1932). Both parents are interred at the Oakland Cemetery in Sac City, Iowa.
Her siblings were: Ron Baichtal (b. 1881, d. 1882), Lena Elma (Waller) Baichtal (b. 1886, d. 1959), James "Fay" Baichtal Sr. (b.1888, d. 1979) and Coral Hester (Ellis) Baichtal (b. 1893, d. 1967).
Blanche apparently died of a birth defect possibly spina bifida. According to my grandmother Coral (Baichtal) Ellis and her daughter (my mother, Barbara (Ellis) Jones) a high wind occurred and blew in the door to their cabin. In the confusion the sack on Blanche's back was burst and she died from complications.
