RITA LOUISE MASON ADELMAN, 79, of Bartlett, died February 15, 2008, after suffering a stroke on Valentine's Day. Mrs. Adelman was a 1947 graduate of St. Agnes Academy and a communicant of the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Bartlett. She was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve Tambini Mason and Jodie Haywood Pollard Mason of Memphis. Mrs. Adelman was, for many years, a beloved employee at Larose of Memphis. She was also a recipient of President George H. W. Bush's Thousand Points of Light Award for her charitable work with the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Richard M. Adelman of Bartlett; two sons, Alan "A. J." Adelman (wife, Margaret) of Bartlett and Bill Adelman of Horn Lake; her two loving grandsons, Dr. Scott Adelman of Memphis, and Eric Adelman of Horn Lake. She is also survived by three brothers, Paul Mason of Irvington, New Jersey, Thomas Mason of Memphis, and Gene Mason of Southaven, Mississippi. The family would like to thank the many friends and family members who have shown their support during this difficult time. Memorials may be sent to the Fire Museum of Memphis or to the building fund of the Catholic Church of the Nativity in Bartlett. Visitation will be Sunday, February 17, at Memphis Funeral Home, 3700 N. Germantown Parkway from 3-6 p.m. Rosary to follow at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 18, at Nativity Catholic Church, 5955 St. Elmo Avenue, in Bartlett, with burial to follow at Memory Hill Gardens on Germantown Parkway.
