A draftswoman at the Itek Corporation in the early 1960's, Jeanne took great pleasure in her various artistic endeavors. Although an early officer of the Chelmsford Art Society, it was her participation in the Chelmsford Garrison House that led her to a lifelong interest in quilting. She was an active member of several quilt guilds and associations. Her proudest achievement, besides her children and grandchildren, was being co-founder of A Quilters' Gathering, an event held every November since 1989 that draws quilters from all over the country as well as the globe.
She is survived by her husband John; one son Stephen and daughter-in-law Kelly; three daughters, Amy and son-in-law Joe, Sarah, Kate and son-in-law Scott. She was blessed with five grandchildren; Jacqueline, Joseph, Philip, Sam and Noah. She is also survived by her sister Nancy Lowe, brother-in-law Dennis Lowe, and niece Carolyn Shifflett and family.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday July 28, 2007 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford, NH. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Saints Memorial Cancer Center, 1 Hospital Drive, Lowell, MA, 01852-1311.
