Mary Ann Manatt Harden was born in Ohio and departed this life at her home near Victor, Iowa, at 83 years of age. She was the eldest daughter of John Samuel Manatt and Margaret Jane Price. She came west to Iowa with her parents in 1846. She was united in marriage to John S. Harden* on March 14, 1866 in Poweshiek Co., IA. and to this union nine children were born, three of whom died in infancy.
