COTTAGE GROVE - The grave side funeral will be held today, Nov. 15, for Ramona 'Mona' Huffman of Cottage Grove, who died Nov. 13 of congestive heart failure. She was 79.
Huffman was born March 22, 1917, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Bruce and Ruby Reed. She married Carmon Huffman in Grand Junction on Oct. 13, 1934. He died June 28, 1990.
In 1941, Huffman moved from Grand Junction to Cottage Grove where she worked at Peterson's Department Store and at J.C. Penney Co. Her interests included painting. solving crossword puzzles, reading and flowers. She also enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with family and friednds.
Survivors include two sons, Alan and Ray, both of Cottage Grove; two sisters, Billie Cowbrough of Roseburg and Marjorie Pennington of Oregon City; eight grand children; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Ron, died previously.
Today's service is at 2 p.m. at Fir Grove Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove is in charge of arrangements.

She moved to Cottage Grove in 1914 from Grand Junction, Colo. She attended High school and was a homemaker.
She worked at Petersons Department Stor and J.C. Penney in Cottage Graove. She enjoyed painting, doing crossword puzzles, reading, flowers, working in her yard and being with family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Alan Huffman of Cottage Grove and Ray Huffman of Cottage Grove; two sisters, Billie Cowbrough of Roseburg and Marjorie Penington of Oregon City; eight grandchildren and four great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carmon, on June 28, 1990; a sister, Evelyn, and a son, Ron.
Graveside services were held Nov 15 at Fir Grove Cemetery, Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel handled arrangements.
