Obituary:

Charlotte Allerton, 92, formerly of Granbury, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, in Martin's Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 10:30 a.m. to noon Friday at Martin's Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Kidney Foundation of North Texas in Charlotte's name.
Charlotte was born Dec. 15, 1915, in Hazelton, Kan. She was the daughter of Laura and John Hacker and grew up in Carmen, Okla. She married Charles Allerton in Oklahoma on June 25, 1939.
Charlotte earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth. She began her career as an elementary teacher, later taught history and retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District as a guidance counselor.
She was a member of Acton United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, Delta Kappa Gamma, TWC Women's Exes, camping clubs and numerous other organizations.
Survivors: Her husband, Charles; daughters, Katherine Uschmann of Ledyard, Conn., and her husband, Stuart, and Virginia Gordon of Richardson and her husband, Ron; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
