C. Warren Turner, 79, of Front Royal, VA died on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at the Winchester Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA. Officiating will be Reverend Gary Heaton. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome back to the Front Royal United Methodist Church immediately after the graveside for a time of fellowship.

Born on September 15, 1928 in Warren County, VA, he was the son of the late Calvin Homer Turner and Janie Moore Licklider. He was a graduate of Warren County High School and Echels College of Mortuary Science. Warren was a member of the following organizations: Member of the Front Royal United Methodist Church, Former owner and President of the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home, Member and past President of the Front Royal Jaycees and is a honorary life member of the Virginia Jaycees, served as member of the Board of Directors of the Front Royal Chamber of Commerce, past President of the Front Royal-Warren County Community Chest, now United Way, Member of the Warren County Chapter Isaac Walton League, member of the Front Royal Volunteer Fire Department since January 4, 1945 and served as Chief for 19 years and received his 60-year pin in 2000, member of the Virginia Funeral Directors Association, former member of the National Funeral Directors Association, former member of the Shenandoah Valley Funeral Directors Association, former member of the Northern Virginia Funeral Directors Association, member and past President of the Front Royal Lions Club, member of the Elks Lodge #2382 Front Royal, member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #829 Front Royal, member of the Giles B. Cook Post # 53 American Legion Front Royal, member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter # 6 Front Royal, A 32 Degree Mason, a member of Richmond Scottish Rites Bodies, member of Unity Lodge # 146 A.F. & A.M. Priode Council # 203 Allied Masonic Degrees, member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 38, member of the National Sojourners Shenandoah Chapter # 543, member of the Triangle Council # 3 Cryptic Masons of District of Columbia, member of Carl L. Sitter Camp Heroes of 76, District Deputy Grand Commander of Knights Temple Chivalric Virginia 2007-2008. Warren served in the US Army and was Front Royal-Warren County Outstanding Young Man in 1957.

Survived by his wife of 58 years Louise Scott Turner, Mr. Turner is also survived by three daughters: Sherry T. Haffer of Front Royal, VA, Kelly T. Harris of Charlottesville, VA and Jennifer T. Duncan of Winchester, VA; one son-in-law James W. Haffer, Sr. of Front Royal, VA; one brother: Leon Turner of Front Royal, VA; two sisters: Betty T. Manuel of Strasburg, VA and Juanita T. Pullen of Fishersville, VA; five grandchildren: James W. Haffer, Jr. (Kenesa), Michael S. Haffer of Front Royal, VA, Jessica D. Liss (Leon) of Allentown, PA, Megan Freyer (Brent) of Greensboro, NC and Allison L. Green of Winchester, VA; seven great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Alli Haffer, Savannah and Ayden Warren Haffer, Dylan and Cassidy Settle and Gabrielle Bailey. He was predeceased by one sister Nancy T. Kirkland; one grandson Clinton Warren Haffer; one nephew Barry Manuel and one niece Dana Manuel.

Pallbearers will be Todd Smedley, David Seekford, Paul Thomson, Marcus Robinson, Art Hiserman and Eddie Powell. Honorary Pallbearers will be all visiting funeral directors, members of the Front Royal Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, members of the Front Royal Lions Club, members of the Unity Lodge # 146, Amos Hall, Ward Myers, Jim Rutherford, Dr. Tom Patterson, Joe Williams, Bernard Stokes and Joe Swiger.

Masonic services will be held at 7PM. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7:30 - 9:30 PM at the Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal, VA.
