Stanley Wayne Rusmisel was my biological father. I have never thought of him much, as he only (in my mind) donated his sperm. He was never a father to me, or any kind of father figure. Maybe he knew that he didn't know how to be, as he knew he was an alcoholic, and that's why he stayed away. My parents got divorced when I was just 6 months old. I saw him perhaps 6-8 times in the years after my birth in 1956 and before his death in 1980. Everyone in his family knew of his drinking problem, most of all his mother and my grandmother Ruth Rusmisel. Of course, only he could have done anything about it. He married a total of 4 times, including my mother, who was his 2nd wife. First was Mary, third was Carol (not sure on that name), last was Maxine, who is buried beside him in Lone Wolf Cemetery. My mother is buried across the state in Choctaw County. I was his only child. I hope, for his and my grandmother's sakes, that all his demons are put to rest now. I attended his funeral and have made peace with the past.
