NEWBERRY TOWNSHIP Charlotte J. Brooks, 78, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Ralph J. Brooks, Jr. Born December 1, 1929, in Mt. Vernon, Mo., the daughter of the late W. Maurice and Velma (Foster) Gillingham, she worked as an accountant. She was a 1947 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and earned a scholarship to Springfield Draughon Business University in Springfield, Mo. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Mrs. Brooks is survived by a daughter, Nancy S. Darr of Manchester; two sons, Stephen Brooks and William J. Brooks, both of York; six grandchildren, Matt, Leah, Andrew, Michelle, Zarah, and Celeste; and a greatgranddaughter, Anaya. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery.
