On January 29, 1905 she was united in marriage to Ira Lyon. To this union were born six children: Esther Jane Carmen, Preceeding her in death September 10, 1926; Iris, Irene, Maude, Edwin Wayne and Joe.
To her husband she was a constant companion for these 46 years while living near Plano, Iowa, bearing and for-bearing the inconsistencies of life with him. To her children, a mother of patience, love, and understanding nature; to her wide acquaintance of neighbors and friends she was a loyal and devoted soul. Two years ago, she with her husband, confessed Jesus Christ and united with the Plano Church of Christ.
Those left to mourn this passing are: her husband, Ira of the home; daughters, Iris Helman of Salem, Oregon, Irene Statler of Newberg, Oregon, Maude Schroeder of San Bernadino, CA; sons, Edwin Wayne of Luray, Missouri and Joe of Newberg, Oregon; one sister Blanche Dowell of Yanhill, Oregon; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral services were held at the Plano Church of Christ, Thursday afternoon, April 26, 1951 at 1:00 p.m. with
George W. Swan officiating.
Interment was in the Lyon's Cemetery.
