Son of Edwin Lyon & Catherine Elizabeth Bear Lyon. Married Elizabeth Ann Wilson December 24th, 1914, in Mystic, Iowa
Cause of death: drowning (Charlton River near North Bend)
Harry Lyon was born Feb. 25, 1892, and passed May 29, 1921, being at the time of his death 29 years, 3 months, 4 days of age. He was born and raised to young manhood on his father's farm 3 1/4 miles north of Plano, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Lizzie Wilson of Mystic, Iowa, Dec. 24, 1914. To this union three children were born, Leona, age 5 years; Richard, age 4, and Virginia, age 2. He was converted in early youth and united with the U.B. Church at Mystic, Iowa. After his marriage his home being in Promise City, Iowa, he transferred his membership to the Methodist church there, and since then has been a member at that place. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife and three children, his mother, four sisters, Mrs. C.F. Kirkland, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. J.W. Haines, Cincinnati, Iowa; Mrs. Ed Wyrick, Plano, Iowa, and Nellie, at home; his brothers, Ira Lyon, Plano, Iowa; Fred Lyon, Oklahoma City, OK, and Jay Artie Lyon, at home.
He was a kind and loving husband, father, son and brother, and numbered his friends by those who knew him. The funeral was conducted in the Church of Christ at Mystic by the pastor, A.L. Criley, in the presence of a multitude of friends. Rev. Bainbridge and Miss Inman, pastor of the U.B. church, assisted in the services. All that was mortal of our departed was laid to rest in the Lyon Cemetery near the old famiy home near Plano.
