"Died in Chicago.
Word has been received by Mrs. Fred Humphrey [Humphries] of the death of her sister, Miss Mollie Kane. Miss Kane is well known in Dixon, where she live (sic) for five years previous to he (sic) removal to Chicago six years ago. Her death was quite sudden and is a shock to her friends here, where she was very popular among the young people and loved for her many excellent qualities. Miss Kane was about 23 years [21 years] of age and leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Kane, a brother, John, of Chicago and sister, Mrs. Humphrey of this city, whom she visited last summer. The funeral will take place Sunday [November 16]."
