[Richard Emery, son of John and Abiah (Page) Emery, born Nov. 23, 1794; married Betsey Hardy of Groton, Conn. He was an itinerant minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church; began preaching at sixteen years of age; ordained deacon, June 4, 1814; elder, June 5, 1816; died in Wethersfield, Conn., Jan 7, 1821. His wife died in Craftsbury, VT, in March 1845.
