She was born July 14, 1921 in Story, the daughter of the late Thomas Leonard Peniger and the late Margaret Ethel Qualls Peniger.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Fonnie Breashears; one son, Jerry Breashears; and, one son-in-law, Don Thompson.
Survivors include: son and daughter in law, Joe and Dianne Breashears; son and daughter in law, John and Sandra Breashears; son and daughter in law, Thomas and Janice Breashears; two daughters, Patricia Thompson and Judith Cogburn; daughter and son in law, Hazel and Jerry Russell, a daughter in law, Shirley Breashears; a sister in law, Mary Peniger; a sister, Alma Darby; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services were October 8, 1998, at 10:00 AM at the Church of God in Story with Bro. Roger Harper officiating. Burial was in Breashears Cemetery in Story under the direction of Thornton Funeral Home of Mount Ida.
Pallbearers were: George Breashears, Jimmy Breashears, Curtis Breashears, Chris Darby, Alton Abernathy and Bobby Joe Irons.
