Robert F. Featherston, age 74, of Barnum passed away on Jan. 27, 2008, at the University Hospital, Madison, after a brief illness. He was born on May 6, 1933, in Rockford, IL, the son of Charles T. and Clellah (Farley) Featherston. He married Doretta Jenkins on Sept. 1, 1961, in Freeport,IL. He is survived by his wife, Doretta Featherston of Barnum; seven sons, Robert J. (Nancy) Featherston of Prairie du Chien, Patrick (Debra) Featherston of Byron, IL, Jeffrey and Sue Featherston of Machesney Park, IL, John and Deborah Featherston of Loves Park, IL, William Featherston of Platteville, Daniel (Cheryl) Featherston of Prairie du Sac, and Alan (Michelle) Featherston of Comanche, IA; three daughters, Deborah (Ray) Jones of Prairie du Chien, Sandra Featherston and Dale Vang, both of Minneopolis, MN., and Deanna (Ted) Steines of Barnum; 29 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charles J. (Lillie) Featherston of Poplar Grove, IL, Paul (Virginia) Featerston of Oro Valley, AZ, and William J. Featherston of Rockford, IL; and two sisters, M. Joanne (Jerry) Bates of Clear Water, FL and Darlene Wick of Lincoln, IL He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rosalie Hewett; and a great-grandchild, Donovan James. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Jan. 31, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Boscobel, with Father Ken Frisch officiating. Burial will be in the Haney Ridge Cemetery in Crawford County. Friends may call on Jan. 30, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Boscobel, with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Boscobel. Military Honors will be accorded by the Daughtery-Larsen Post No. 446 of Steuben. The Kendall Funeral Service in Boscobel, is assisting the family.
