Virgie was the daughter of Charlie Sanders and Martha Lowry Sanders; wife of Ted Albert; mother of Inez, Melvin, Gloria and Patricia; and sister of Mary, Ethel, Hilbert, Edith, Eric, Lillian, Joseph, Joseph's infant twin sister, and Ruth.

Virgie and her husband (Ted), daughter (Patricia Dare) and grandson (William McCormick) were murdered in Oklahoma City on August 5, 1960.
