Robert Wayne Linton 1957 ~ 2008 Robert Wayne Linton died unexpectedly on January 26, 2008. He was born to Leonard Kent and Emma Jeane Linton July 27, 1957. He graduated from Juab High School and completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Brigham Young University. Robert dedicated 20 years of dutiful service to the Salt Lake City Police Department. During those years, he served in various positions in the police department. One of his most joyous assignments was when he was over the Liberty Bike patrol. As a Lieutenant, he was an assistant division commander, a watch commander and the Director of Communications. Robert's latest assignment was Captain of the Management Services Division. Bob, "Bobby" was soft hearted and known for his kindness, compassion and caring. Bob's laughter was contagious and people loved to be in his company. Bob and Robert loved their dogs, Rocky, Missy, Dexter, and Jade. He is survived by his partner Robert Burgess and the entire Salt Lake City Police Dept family, his sister Cheryl Stephenson (Terry), brother Richard Linton (Vicki), loving aunt and uncle Golden and Irene Mangelson. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Westland 8th Ward Chapel, 7115 S. 3200 W., West Jordan, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary 8090 South State Midvale, UT and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment, Nephi Vine Bluff Cemetery.
