Memphis, Missouri - Phoebe Bull, 90, rural Memphis died Saturday morning, December 19, at her home, west of Brock. She was born July 15, 1902, east of Brock in Scotland County to Rueben Fletcher and Grace Southmayd Hyde. She was married February 15, 1921, in the home of her parents to Buford Ernest Bull. He died November 27, 1977. Survivors include: two sisters, LaRue Morris and Bessie Aylward, both of Memphis; and several nieces and nephews, including twin nieces, Marilyn and Carolyn Bull and a nephew Stanley Bull, whom she helped raise; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Bull was also preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one nephew. She attended school at Brock, formerly known as Hydetown, which was named for her ancestors. She joined Brock United Methodist Church in 1919. She loved gardening. Mrs. Bull and her husband were members of the Registered Angus Association. They had a prize herd of cattle and helped several young people get a start in the cattle business. They also raised sheep. Services are 1:30 p.m. today at Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel in Memphis with the Rev. Harold Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Brock Cemetery.
