Funeral services for Lucy Ahpeahtone, 90, of Carnegie were held Thursday, May 1, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home with Rev. Larin Karr officiating.
Wake services were held Wednesday, April 30, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie.
Lucy was born August 23, 1906 northwest of Carnegie to Ralph and Lizzie (Betauger) Ahpeahtone and died Sunday, April 27, 1997 at the Silvercrest Nursing Home in Anadarko.
She was a member of the Kiowa Tribe and had lived in the Carnegie area all of her life. She attended Rainy Mountain School and was a member of the Rainy Mountain Kiowa Indian Baptist Church. She was also a member of the American War Mothers and the Rainy Mountain Sewing Club.
She is survived by one sister, Beatrice Ahpeahtone Doyah Smith of Anadarko; four grandchildren, Linda Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Danny Williams, Darla Williams and Kevin Williams all of Oklahoma City; eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Ralph C. Williams; three sisters, Anna, Wanona and Mary; seven brothers, Charles, Chester, Wesley, Frank, Wilbur, Elmer, Fred; two grandsons, Alvin Ray and Michael Earl.
Burial was in the Samone Cemetery in Carnegie under the direction of the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home.
