William M. Eckroat III, age 42, lifelong resident of Oklahoma City died Friday, November 5, 1982 at Oklahoma Memorial Hospital. Born October 3, 1940 in Oklahoma City; was a 1958 graduate of St. Gregory's High School at Shawnee, OK. and graduated from the Junior College in 1960, graduated from Central State University 1969 with a B.A. in Sociology. Bill is a third generation member of the Eckroat Seed Company and was employed there until his death. He was a member of the Oklahoma Army National Guard assigned to the 120th Medical Batallion. A charter member of the Buttons and Beaux Square Dance Club and a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He leaves many friends and family members who will miss him and his easy going and fun loving disposition. He had a strong faith and will and found satisfaction in life. Survivors include his wife Gayle Patricia; Sons, William M. IV, age 15, and Joseph A., age 6, both of the home. Parents, Mr. William and Kathryn Eckroat Jr.; Sisters, Anita Cooper, Lawton, OK and Susan of OKC; Brothers, Tom and Jack of Hennessey, OK and Tony of Oklahoma City; Maternal grandmother Josephine Kloiber, OKC, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Wake services will be at 6:00pm Sunday, November 7 at the Smith & Kernke Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial willl be at 10:00am Monday, November 8 at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with interment at the Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (Cancer Division) for aid and cure of Pancreatic Cancer.
