Terry James Boles, 56, of the 2300 block of Wildwood Road, passed away Jan. 19, 2008, in his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., he was the son of the late Hollace and Mattie Pearl Boles. He was an operating room monitor technician at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. He was formerly a firefighter with the City of Chesapeake for approximately 10 years. He enjoyed his work and lived his life to help other people. He is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Patricia Black Boles; a daughter, Sandra L. Altman and husband Richard of Windsor, Va.; a brother, Wayne N. Boles of Wilton Manors, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Tori and Tessa Altman of Windsor.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, with the Rev. Richard W. Altman officiating. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
