Katherine Vivian Kester, 87, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Charles Waugh of Westview Christian Church and Dr. Larry Payne of Coulter Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Kester was born at Ardmore, Okla., in 1913. She married Lynn Kester on June 10, 1933, at Sudan. They moved to Amarillo from Hereford in 1986. She co-owned Kester's Jewelry in Hereford with her husband from 1935 to 1973. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999 and a grandson, Mickey Walls, in 1996.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathlyn Walls of Amarillo and Carolyn Allman of DeSoto; a son, Bill Kester of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson St., Amarillo, TX 79101 or Faith City Mission.
