MOORESVILLE -- Mr. White, 61, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at his residence.
Born March 4, 1946 in Mooresville, he was the son of Catherine Helms White of Mooresville and the late Clyde Mitchell White. He was a US Army veteran, serving in Vietnam as a military policeman. He retired from the Mooresville Police Department in 2003 with the rank of Captain and was currently employed by Dale Earnhardt Inc. in their security department. He was a former member of the Mooresville Civitan Club. He was a member of the Living Waters Foursquare Church, where he served on the Church Council.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Betty Caldwell White; children, Kimberly W. Baker and husband, Doye, Christopher M. White and wife, Heather, both of Mooresville; brother, Richard L. White of Mooresville; sister, Barbara Ann Lipe and husband, Robert, of Troutman; and grandchildren, Gracie and Eli Baker and Skylar White.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 4 at Living Waters Foursquare Church with Rev. Roy A. Young and Rev. J. Werlie Helms officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow the service in Glenwood Memorial Park with full military honors. Pallbearers will be members of the Mooresville Police Department. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30-8:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
