Robert R. "Bob" Bailey, 94 of Belpre, Ohio formerly of Leesburg, FL died January 23, 2005 at his daughter's residence. He was born in Wood County, WV on July 13, 1910 and was the son of the late Alonzo V. and Martha Ethel McPherson Bailey. Retired from the Union Carbide Company as a crane operator. He had worked for the McKinley Pharmacy as a teenager and had worked for Leavitt Funeral Home in the late 1920's. He had also worked for Broughton Dairy, W&J Sales, Sherman Dils, Young's Plumbing, Union Insulator, Ames Corp, Ocala National Forest as a serviceman, and volunteered for the hospital. He was known as the "Train Man" and had made wooden trains for several years which have been shipped worldwide, including China. He was a lifetime member of the AFL-CIO and had been in the National Guard. He had been a member of the West Virginia National Campers Association, and had been President of the Woodpecker Camping Group in Parkersburg and had been elected King and his wife Queen of the Woodpecker Group.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Bailey and wife Lucille of Belpre, Eugene Bailey and wife Deborah of Lady Lake, FL, James Bailey and wife Cindy of Lady Lake, FL, Rick Bailey and wife Kim of Fruitland Park, FL, two daughters, Janet Waggoner and husband Bob of Belpre, Judy Johnson and her companion Robert Root of Parkersburg, WV, 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, two sisters, Edith Taylor of Glendale, AZ, and Clara Mae Simmons of Akron, Ohio

His wife Florice Bailey, a daughter, Donna Adams, his parents, one sister and three brothers, preceded him in death.

Services will be on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre with Pastor Tim Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Barlow Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
