He is buried with his wife Jane, who died 15th (or 1st) June 1862 aged 66 years. When she died she was living at Linenhall Street, Derry. She had been born in County Tyrone.
According to his police records William Arrott was born c.1800 in County Tyrone. He joined the Irish Constabulary (RIC No. 273) on 1 September 1825 when he was 25 years old on the recommendation of Sir Robert Bateson J. P. He served 30 years with the force in Down, Armagh and Donegal, retiring on 1 November 1855 with the rank of Head Constable and a pension of just over £30 a year. He died in 1860 aged 60 years at his home in Bishop Street, Derry and was buried in the City Cemetery, just 7 years after it opened.

A check with the Wills Calender at PRONI (Public Record Office Northern Ireland) reveals that William left "under £200" to Jane.
