SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas --Funeral services for Alice T. Bishop,101, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Shane Carrington officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgeway Cemetery with Roy Wallace, Bobby Wallace, Donald Wallace, James Deas, Jr., Scott Randall and Dr. Dale McMillon serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McMillon, and James Deas, Sr.
Bishop died April 27, 1999 at the Sulphur Springs hospital. She was born in Daylight, Tennessee on February 25, 1898 to John and Nettie Sowells Tubb. She married Calvin H. Bishop in the Sulphur Bluff Community in 1921. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1959. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Brown, and Fred Tubb; two sisters Mattie Griffin and Delphia Goodman.
She is survived by her two daughters; Dorothy Deas of Cordova, Tenn., and Ruth McMillon of Ardmore, Ok; one brother Tom Tubb of Sulphur Springs; one sister Julia Holt of Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren and five great/grandchildren.
