Born in Wilkes-Barre, son of the late John B. and Minnie Nicholson Armstrong, he resided in the Clarks Summit area for the past 58 years. Before his retirement, he was employed as an electrical engineer for the Scranton Electric Construction Co. in the air-conditioning division for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit, where he served as an elder and a deacon. He was a graduate of Penn State University. He was a member of the South Wilkes-Barre and Abington rod and gun clubs, the Country Club of Scranton and the Scranton Rotary Club.
Also surviving are a son, Jack "Sandy" B., Savannah, Ga.; a daughter, Lindsay McCoy, Largo, Fla.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Bogar.
The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Barbara Muntzel, associate pastor, First Presbyterian Church of Clarks Summit. Interment, Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre.
There will be no public calling hours.
