Daisy L. Elzey

Daisy L. Elzey, 87, of Dunbar passed away peacefully and met the Lord on April 19, 2006, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Daisy was born on Dec. 6, 1918. She was the daughter of Harry and Anna Lott of South Charleston. Daisy married Chester Harold Potter and they had four children, Chester "Sam," Phyllis, David and William "Billy."

She loved camping, fishing and going to flea markets.

In addition to her parents and her first husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Meredith James Elzey; her daughter, Phyllis Jean Kerwood; her granddaughter, Leslie Michelle Potter; and her sisters, Helen Tyler, June Stanley, Ruth Needham, Rosalee Lott and Patsy Wiseman.

She is survived by her sons and their wives, William Dale and Donna Potter of Dunbar, David Wayne and Pam Potter of South Charleston and Chester Harold Jr. and Charlotte Potter of Pensacola, Fla. Daisy also had 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A service to honor the life of Daisy Elzey will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at Snodgrass Funeral Home with the Rev. Merlin Provance officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Darlington Memory Gardens, Florence, S.C.

Family and friends will visit from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.
