Mrs. Fairfield was born Jan. 24, 1921, in Mahomet, a daughter of Charles Raye and Daisy Truitt Lindsey.
She married Lowell Fairfield on Nov. 4, 1939, in Indianapolis. He passed away Jan. 19, 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Steven (Diane) Fairfield, Louisville, Ky., and David (Debbie) Fairfield, Danvers; one daughter, Susan (Bill) Von Drehle, Gilman; seven grandsons; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Charles Fairfield, two sisters and one grandchild.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Bloomington. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association. She was a 10-year member of the BroMenn Service Auxiliary, BroMenn Bridge Marathon League, Bloomington Emblem Club, Elks Lodge and David Davis Mansion Society. She was a supporter of Miller Park Zoo.
Fran had worked at State Farm Insurance Co. for 25 years.
Fran was a 1939 graduate of Illinois Commercial College, Champaign. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and spending time with her family and friends.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all.
