Of Walpole, formerly of North Attleboro unexpectedly December 13, 2007, E. Scott Whitney, husband of the late Stephanie (Jarzemborski) Whitney, father of Amanda J. Whitney of Virginia, son of Edward R. Whitney of Florida and the late Shirley (Brown) Whitney, brother of William of Texas, Robert of Attleboro and Paul of California, longtime companion of Debra Larocque of Walpole, son-in-law of Stephen and Sophia Jarzemborski of Dedham, also survived by 1 grandson and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Thursday December 27th at 1:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham. Visiting hours are omitted, in lieu of flowers donations in Scott's memory may be made to the North Attleboro Animal Shelter, 43 South Washington St., North Attleboro, MA 02760. Edward Scott Whitney, 50, of Walpole formerly of North Attleboro died unexpectedly on Thursday December 13, 2007 in Missouri while attending his daughter Amanda's graduation ceremonies. He was the husband of the late Stephanie (Jarzemborski) Whitney.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on March 4, 1957 he was a son of Edward R. Whitney of North Fort Meyers, Florida and the late Shirley (Brown) Whitney.

He grew up in North Attleboro, was educated in North Attleboro public schools and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School.

Mr. Whitney was employed as a Counter Person for the past 8 years at the Norfolk branch of Foxboro Electric Supply and had formerly worked for the former Luke Electric Supply company as a truck driver and in deliveries.

Scott enjoyed the outdoors and the simple pleasures of relaxing at home, his hobbies included collecting both indoor and outdoor fish. A motorcycle enthusiast he also loved animals and when younger enjoyed scuba diving and camping and hunting with his family.

Mr. Whitney had resided in Walpole for the past several years and was a former native and longtime resident of North Attleboro.

Besides his father he is survived by his devoted daughter Amanda J. Whitney of Beaver Dam, Virginia, his brothers; William Whitney of Texas, Robert Whitney of Attleboro and Paul Whitney of California, his grandson James Whitney of Virginia, his longtime companion Debra Larocque of Walpole and her daughter Rebekah, his former in laws Stephen and Sophia Jarzemborski of Dedham, also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield. Burial will follow in Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham MA.
