Gonzaloes Basquez, of Okmulgee, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, in Okmulgee. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church, Oilton. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery in Oilton.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.

He was born July 13, 1932, in Wetumka, to Andy and Rafaila (Jaramillo) Basquez. He grew up in Wetumka and moved to Oilton in 1972. In 2001 he moved to Tulsa, then Okmulgee.

He was married to Margaret Knight.

A construction worker and cement finisher who worked for M.J. Lee Construction, he was a hard worker and good father who enjoyed gardening and loved his family very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Judith Basquez; four brothers, Ralph, Daniel, Nick and Jesse; one sister, Johnny Basquez and one grandson.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Gonzaloes Basquez Jr. and his wife, Jan, of Cushing, Jack Shotbolt and his wife, Hope, of Omaha, Neb. and Roger Basquez of Mounds; six daughters, Donna Basquez of Oilton, Teresa Yocham and her husband, Rudy, of Kellyville, Roxie Basquez of Tulsa, Kathy Basquez of Sperry, Debbie Foote and her husband, Roy, of Okmulgee and Elisha Havenar and her husband, Lee Jr. of Mounds; two brothers, Raymond Basquez of Augusta, Kan. and Jim Basquez of Wetumpka; four sisters, Doris Davis of Glenpool, Julia Underwood of Wetumpka, Chance Lee Sloan of Shawnee and Maggie Johnson of Missouri; 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
