Thad Jason Hansford was born on September 16, 1973 in Carthage Missouri to Freddie Burton Hansford and Donna Sue Greer Hansford. Thad was the youngest of three children and was dearly loved. His maternal grandparents were Dallas Troy Greer and Viola Susan "Susie" Capps Greer and his paternal grandparents were Frank Hansford and Frances Irene Hansford.

Thad was survived by his parents, a brother and a sister; as well as one son and two nephews. He died of injuries from a one car accident on April 4, 1999 in Newton County, Missouri.
