Lt. Col. Frank Allen Crumpler Jr., Virginia Army National Guard retired, of the 100 block of Ridgewood Road, passed away Dec. 27, 2007. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Frank A. Crumpler Sr. and Frances Eunice Beale Crumpler. Frank was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired from the Virginia Army National Guard. He later retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he was a production controller. He was a member of Elizabeth Lodge No. 34, the Norfolk Scottish Rite Body, Khedive Temple, Khedive Patrol Unit and Khedive Golf Club. Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Iris Snell Crumpler of Chesapeake; two sons, Kenneth Lee Crumpler and wife Rhonda of Gulfport, Miss., and Frank Allen Crumpler and wife Wendy of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; three grandchildren, Justin Crumpler, Carie Crumpler and Cassie Crumpler; two great-grandchildren; brother, John R. Crumpler and wife Mildred of Norfolk; sister-in-law, Nannie Miller and husband Calvin of Norfolk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk. The Rev. Gene Meeks will officiate. There will not be a visitation. A viewing will be Sunday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake.
