CHERRY VALLEY, CA: 1889-1976: Ora Helen Garrison died Monday (Jul. 19, 1976) at the Sunset Haven Convalescent Hospital. She was 87. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday (7-22-1976) at the Beaumont Church of Christ under the direction of Weaver Mortuary. The officiant will be Mr. Earl Dody, of the Beaumont Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Calimesa. Friends may call at Weaver Mortuary Wednesday until 8 p.m. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Mrs. Garrison had lived in Cherry Valley for the past six years, moving here from Modesto. She married her husband, Jess N. Garrison, on March 30, 1907 in Paris, Texas. Survivors include her husband Jess of Cherry Valley; a son Denver Garrison, of Modesto; six daughters, Merdia Young and Marie Penrod, both of Cherry Valley, Bea Byers of Beaumont, Lois Jenkins of Georgia; Effie Eaton of Oklahoma and Alva Crabb of Oklahoma; a brother, Henry Whitaker, of Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
