Rev. Billie C. Nunn, 78, of Vaiden, died Saturday, July 11, 1998 of heart failure at his residence in Vaiden.

Rev. Nunn was born on April 19, 1920 in Monroe County. He was a retired minister in the United Methodist Church and a member of The United Methodist Conference. He served churches in the communities of Abbeville, Water Valley, Cockrum, Greenleaf, Carrollton, Algoma, Tupelo, Winter City, Kilmichael and Winona. He served in the U. S. Air Force in World War II. He also served as a retired Supply Minister. He was a member of the V. F. W. and a member of American Legion Post #52 in Winona where he was chaplain for many years. Rev. Nunn was a former member of Kilmichael Lion's Club. He graduated from East Mississippi Junior College in Scoobe and attended Emory University in Atlanta, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13 at Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Winona with Rev. Grady Bailey, Rev. Frank Wheat, and Rev. Norris Corley officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.

Pallbearers include Glatis Holcomb, Benny Rodgers, Haggard Yates, Kris Yates and Tio Nunn. The family request memorials be sent to Sta-Home Hospice, 205 Walthall, Greenwood, Ms 38930.

Rev. Nunn is survived by wife, Vera H. Nunn of Vaiden; two daughters, Elizabeth Nunn Yates of Vaiden, Wyvonne Nunn Burden of Greenwood; one son, Billie Wayne Nunn of Elliott; one brother, Buford D. Nunn of Aberdeen; three sisters, Annie Nunn Rodgers of Aberdeen, Janie Nunn Philley of Pensacola, Fla., Lucille Nunn Cates of Mantachie; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Lee Funeral Home of Winona had charge of arrangements.
