Born Oct. 27, 1943, he was a pipe fitter and a member of Dover Church of Christ in Dover.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Vivian Hill Furr, and a sister, Louise Furr.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Ann Furr; a daughter, Alicia Sherrill of Hartman; a son, Virgel T. Furr of Auburn, Neb.; three sisters, Montine Ramsey of Hardy and Geraldine Wooten and Linda Kay Arnold, both of West Helena; a brother, Mackie Furr of Marvell; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at North New Hope Cemetery, Dover, with Micah Williams and Earl Whitted officiating. Burial was under the direction of Roller Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville.
Pallbearers were James, Anthony and Bryan Arnold, Robert Wooten, Earl Whitten and Jim Sherrill.
