BELLEVUE, IL - Cynthia Almira Farrar, 100, of Bellevue, Ill., formerly of Pleasant View, Ill., died at 10:19 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at Bel-Wood Nursing Home.

Cynthia was born March 5, 1907, in Bath, Ill., the daughter of Curtis and Mary J. (Oleson) Williams. She married Lester B. Farrar on Sept. 6, 1924, in Chandlerville, Ill. He passed away Feb. 1, 1985.

Surviving are one daughter, Mary June Shores of Red Bud, Ill.; three sons, Glenn (and Sarah) of Decatur, Ill., Jerry (and Cindy) of Bartonville, Ill., and Lee (and Jane) of Bellevue, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, one grandson, five brothers and three sisters.

Cynthia and her husband, Lester, farmed in the Pleasant View area for many years. She also worked at the Farrar Cider Mill and the family owned Farrar Brothers Gas Station, Garage and Trucking Company. She later worked at Bel-Wood Nursing Home, retiring in 1974.

She was a former member of Bellevue Bible Church and a former den mother for the Cub Scouts.

Cynthia enjoyed gardening and loved cooking for family and friends. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.
