Daniel W. Bachelder, a native of this town, died in Boston, and the body was brought here May 2d for burial. He was a brother of George W. Bachelder, sexton of the First church at East Derry, at whose house the services were conducted by Rev. R. T. Wilton.
Mr. Bachelder had not been in this town for a good many years. He left home when a young man and was gone several years. He returned for a short time and then left again. He was gone some twenty years or more, none of his relatives knowing his whereabouts. He returned again to find his parents dead. He had probably traveled the world over and seen about every country on the globe. He died at a homeopathic hospital in Boston, where he had been to have a cancer removed.
He is survived besides his brother at East Derry, by a sister, Mrs. A. F. Patten of Candia, and several nieces and nephews. Interment was in the family lot at the East Derry cemetery.
