June Edyth Whitaker, 75, of Farwell died on July 19, 1991 at Clare Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 24, 1916, the daughter of Burl and Martha (Sheldon) Griffin. Survivors include her husband, Kermit; five children, Larry Whitaker of Dallas, Texas, Sally Houseman of Carson City, Connie Strahota of Scottsdale, Arizona, Kerry Whitaker of Beaverton, and Jerry Whitaker of Farwell; three sisters, Elaine Hurst of Laingsburg, Joyce Lytle of Manistee, and Niva Louth of St. Johns; twenty seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers. Funeral services were held Monday, July 22 at Coker Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Sipes officiating. Burial was in Surrey Township Cemetery.
