KILLED BY TRAIN
Carl Ables, 27, of Grenada and formerly of Greenwood was killed instantly about eleven o'clock last night when he was struck by a southbound Illinois Central passenger train about five miles north of Grenada.
Mr. Ables was riding in an automobile and when he believed the automobile was stalled on the track he jumped from the machine and was struck by the locomotive. The engineer of the locomotive was unaware of the accident until the train reached Durant, where telegraph operators notified him.
Mr. Ables was employed as a barber in the Sanitary Barber Shop of this city several years apo and was once an employee of the Weiner Hotel.
Funeral services are being held tomorrow at the home of his father, W. H. Ables, at Carrollton, interment will be at the Evergreen cemetery.
