Charles Short was just 17 yrs old when he was severly injured during a house fire in Willingboro, NJ. He had made it out of the house sucsessfully , but realized his sisters were still in the house, and went back into the burning home to attempt to help get them out. Ultimately, he suffered third degree burns over 65% of his body. He lived 10-14 days past the fire, and died of infections. A gifted athlete, he was the star of John F. Kennedy's Baseball team, He was a pitcher, and a dominating one he was.
