Marcella B. Allen
BLOOMINGTON - Marcella B. Allen, 92, of Bloomington, formerly of Heyworth and Waverly, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Christ Lutheran Church in Waverly. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. at the church, with Pastor Keith Pereira officiating. Interment will be in Waverly East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Home, 24588 Church St., Chenoa, IL 61726, in her memory. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marcella was born June 20, 1915, in Conover, N.C., a daughter of Charles C. Rector and Eva Pearl Sizemore Rector. She married Merton W. "Red" Allen on Aug. 11, 1945, in Waverly; he preceded her in death on June 22, 1984. Marcella lived in Waverly and Heyworth for many years before moving to Bloomington. She was a secretary in the biology department at Illinois State University and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington.

Marcella is survived by a son, Michael (Candice) Allen of Heyworth; a sister, Edna Kopatz of La Habra, Calif.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Jean Rector of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Red; son, Gary; three brothers; and a sister.
