After his mother died in 1921, his father remarried and had 4 more children: Mary Walker, Hazel, Helen and Pauline. Arthur married Lola Smith on December 23, 1931 in Sano Route, Adair County, Kentucky. They had seven children: Bernice, Artis, Donnie, Jerry, Jimmie, Michael and Linda. Lola passed away in 1988. Arthur remarried on April 12, 1992 to Martha Toler Everhart.
