Elwood V. Arnold, 102, died on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond. He was born on Nov. 11, 1905, in Onalaska, to John L and Lillie (Deggelar) Arnold. He moved to Raymond in 1944. He married Mildred L. Puckett on June 23, 1928, in Chehalis. She later died in May of 2004. Mr. Arnold worked many jobs in the logging industry. He also worked as a janitor for the Onalaska Grade School and later retired as a longshoreman. He enjoyed carving wood, and collecting rocks, coins and antiques.

Mr. Arnold is survived by two daughters, Shirley (Don) Sweeney and Linda (Leroy) Johnson both of South Bend; two sons, Tom (Diana) Arnold of Raymond, and Tim (Irenne) Arnold of Olympia; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters; a son, Norman; a grandson, Steven; and his wife, Mildred.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at the Fern Hill Cemetery in Menlo.
